Tour Summary
In addition to visiting Amarok Society's Schools in Dhaka and Khulna, and meeting the teachers and students, we will visit 4 distinct areas of Bangladesh:- Dhaka- The worlds densest mega city, population 15 million, 115,200 people per square mile. Cruise, 5 days, in the Sundarban Mangrove Forest - UNESCO world heritage site, the delta of 3 mighty rivers on the Bay of Bengal, home to the Bengal Tiger ( very rare), crocodiles and hundreds of small islands. Hill station and tea plantations in the north of Bangladesh.
While we are in Dhaka we may also visit, BMIS-a residential school for visually impaired girls, Islamia Eye Hospital, Rosi-Flower Integrated Pre-School for hearing impaired children, objective, "to make them fit to join the primary schools for normal hearing children for further education". The Rotarians in the group may also wish to visit two of the Rotary Clubs in Dhaka that work with Amarok Society and the organizations that we will visit in Dhaka.
Rotary Club members will particularly enjoy seeing the results of Rotary literacy programs, healthcare and women's issues
During the tour we will stay in comfortable and affordable accommodations suitable for western visitors, travel will be by Car, Coach, Boat, Air, Rickshaw and maybe by Train. Our boat in the Sundarban will be the M V Chhuti, designed for touring the Sundarban Forest. It has accommodation for up to 20 guests, the cabins have upper and lower beds, washrooms are centrally located.
The price of the tour will be available by the end of June 2018
The price is estimated to be in the range of $3,500 Canadian$
International Airfare is not included , Per person double
Included in the price of the tour is a donation to Amarok Society of $350 per person, you will recieve a revenue Canada tax receipt from Amarok Society. Additional donations will be welcomed.
